A few principles worth carrying:
- Practice gentleness even when you’re right. Conviction doesn’t require force.
- Forgive quickly. Holding resentment costs you more than it costs them.
- Choose the right moment to speak. Not everything needs to be said immediately.
- Before criticizing others, ask if you would recognize the same flaw in yourself.
- Stay busy with meaningful work. Idleness invites trouble; purpose creates its own protection.
- Appreciate what others do well, even when they’ve disappointed you.
The sun is the brightest light. Parents are the greatest benefactors. Generous people give freely; small people keep score.
