As a child, I loved playing Monopoly. There were times when I’d built whole rows of hotels, money piling up, happily counting my assets and laughing with friends — when my mom called me home. I begged and cried to play just a little longer, but she was firm: come home now. The game ended in regret, the board folded away when the fun was at its peak.
Growing up, I suddenly realized life is exactly the same. Everyone eventually gets absorbed in accumulating — spending an entire lifetime gathering money, fame, and things they consider important. But at some point, you are called away, and you must stop and go immediately, without time to say another word.
That’s life: when the music is at its most beautiful, the party must come to an end. So don’t just obsessively count what you have — learn to live fully and savor each moment while you’re still playing your own game.
