That’s the mark of a real teacher: they care about the whole person, not just your progress in their subject.
We shared meals, long conversations, and watched football together — just as we had back in Saigon. Some relationships don’t change with geography. They’re simply moved to new coordinates.
To find a wonderful mentor in this life is one of the greatest forms of luck. I don’t take it lightly.
