Trees by a river don’t ask the sun when to bloom, or the rain when to stop, or the wind which direction to lean. They simply grow — in response to everything, constrained by nothing.
Humans are less graceful. We constantly seek advice from multiple sources, receive contradictions, grow confused, and then turn around and offer the same advice to someone else.
Perhaps the most honest question isn’t “what advice should I give?” but “does this person actually need advice, or do they need someone to listen while they find their own answer?”
Most of the time, it’s the second one.
